The Plains, Virginia

(a QuaintVillage)

We discovered this QuaintVillage in 2002 when we exited I-66 to buy gasoline.  The Plains is very small and picturesque, with only one gas station.  It is near the former site of an old stone mansion.  The gatehouse for the mansion still stands.  There are a few very nice shops in The Plains.  One of them specialized in original arts and crafts created within a 30-mile radius.
