If you can spend some time in
the Shenandoah valley, the downtown historic district
in Staunton is a must. You will find many well-preserved pre-Civil
War homes and buildings now occupied by art galleries, shops, and cafes.
The railroad station is now a nice restaurant. A former mill and
warehouses have been converted to shops. All are within easy walking
distance of each other, but you can ride the free trolley bus if you
prefer.
Woodrow Wilson was born in
Staunton, and country music legends the Statler Brothers live here.
There are museums for both. Blackfriars Playhouse is well known
throughout the middle Atlantic states.

Why
shop online?
Prices
and selection
are often better
from these Web
sites than in your
neighborhood stores. Many
of them offer
free packing and
shipping to
your
door or to your
gift recipient. So,
you can save
time, gas, and
money. Merchant
sites must
meet high security
standards to
advertise
on QuaintPlaces.com.

Did
you know?
When
you place an
order from these

commissions
do not increase
the cost of your

purchases
made within a few
days
after
your

commissions for us.
(Please do not delete your cookies.)
These
commissions, plus sales of our

necessary
to help defray the
cost of maintaining QuaintPlaces.com,
which currently
operates at a loss.
Your

help us provide
more
