The
Gatlinburg/Pigeon Forge area is a very popular destination because it
offers a full range of tourist attractions. It is crowded during the
summer and on weekends in the spring and fall. Pigeon Forge has
larger attractions such as Dollywood, Dolly Parton's theme park.
Gatlinburg is smaller, closer to the national park, and has more up-scale
arts and crafts.
In town, there are trolley buses,
but be prepared to leave your car at the hotel and walk the several blocks of shops,
galleries, and restaurants. Don't miss the Arts and Crafts
Community, however. This is located outside of town. The
Community is a loop past the homes, studios, and shops of the artists, and
is accessible via car or trolley bus.
Arrowcraft, in town,
is a large shop run by the craft guild. Their merchandise is all
fine original work.

Why
shop online?
Prices
and selection
are often better
from these Web
sites than in your
neighborhood stores. Many
of them offer
free packing and
shipping to
your
door or to your
gift recipient. So,
you can save
time, gas, and
money. Merchant
sites must
meet high security
standards to
advertise
on QuaintPlaces.com.

Did
you know?
When
you place an
order from these
merchants, they
contribute a small
commission to QuaintPlaces.com. These
commissions
do not increase
the cost of your
purchases. Only
purchases
made within a few
days
after
your
initial "click" to
their sites generate
commissions for us.
(Please do not delete your cookies.)
These
commissions, plus sales of our
own photos and cards, are
necessary
to help defray the
cost of maintaining QuaintPlaces.com,
which currently
operates at a loss.
Your
purchases will
help us provide
more
information
and photos about
quaint places.
