Old
Québec City, Québec
|
A
steep bluff divides Old Québec City into the upper town and the
lower town along the river. The grand Château Frontenac
(hotel) in the upper town dominates the skyline. The upper
town is fortified by a wall built in 1759. Québec City is the only fortified
city with walls still in tact north of Mexico. Both the upper
and lower towns have been restored and well maintained. Old Québec
City was declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1985. You
will find enchanting narrow streets lined with stone
buildings. French is spoken here. |

Why
shop online?
Prices
and selection
are often better
from these Web
sites than in your
neighborhood stores. Many
of them offer
free packing and
shipping to
your
door or to your
gift recipient. So,
you can save
time, gas, and
money. Merchant
sites must
meet high security
standards to
advertise
on QuaintPlaces.com.
|
Did
you know?
When
you place an
order from these
merchants, they
contribute a small
commission to QuaintPlaces.com. These
commissions
do not increase
the cost of your
purchases. Only
purchases
made within a few
days
after
your
initial "click" to
their sites generate
commissions for us.
(Please do not delete your cookies.)
These
commissions, plus sales of our
own photos and cards, are
necessary
to help defray the
cost of maintaining QuaintPlaces.com,
which currently
operates at a loss.
Your
purchases will
help us provide
more
information
and photos about
quaint places.
