This small town
between Cincinnati and Dayton was founded in 1797 by Samuel Heighway, who
wanted it to become the capital of the northwest territories. Today,
Waynesville calls itself "The Antiques Capital of the
Midwest." You can visit Heighway's log cabin and several others
at Caesar's
Creek Pioneer Village, a living history museum just outside of
town.
The Census shows that
Waynesville is growing steadily. Even if you aren't shopping for
antiques of attending one of the festivals, there is plenty to do here and
in this area: a major theme park, two state parks. The
Air Force Museum, in Dayton, is particularly popular, and admission is free.
Also see nearby Yellow Springs, another QuaintVillage.

money. Merchant
sites must
meet high security
standards to
advertise
on QuaintPlaces.com.
