The
primary attraction in this OldeTowne
in the Hudson River valley is the Roosevelt-Vanderbilt National Historic
Site. This is actually three locations within 3 miles of each other.
Hyde Park is near other OldeTownes
Sleepy Hollow and Beacon.
You may be able to see all 3 OldeTownes
in one day if you start early.
We
purchased adult combo tickets for about $20 and toured all of the
Vanderbilt and Roosevelt sites. All were very interesting and
informative. We recommend purchasing tickets before noon because
they limit the number of people in each guided tour.
Many
people who live in the Hudson River valley commute to New York City, so
traffic may be particularly heavy during weekday rush hours. Avoid the
Tappan Zee bridge on I-87. We hear that it is always backed up. We
found I-84 and the Taconic Parkway to be good during non-rush hours.

Why
shop online?
Prices
and selection
are often better
from these Web
sites than in your
neighborhood stores. Many
of them offer
free packing and
shipping to
your
door or to your
gift recipient. So,
you can save
time, gas, and
money. Merchant
sites must
meet high security
standards to
advertise
on QuaintPlaces.com.

Did
you know?
When
you place an
order from these
merchants, they
contribute a small
commission to QuaintPlaces.com. These
commissions
do not increase
the cost of your
purchases. Only
purchases
made within a few
days
after
your
initial "click" to
their sites generate
commissions for us.
(Please do not delete your cookies.)
These
commissions, plus sales of our
own photos and cards, are
necessary
to help defray the
cost of maintaining QuaintPlaces.com,
which currently
operates at a loss.
Your
purchases will
help us provide
more
information
and photos about
quaint places.
