Rockville
was once a country summer retreat for Washington D.C. residents. The
country road and rail service has been replaced by an unbroken string of
stores and restaurants and a subway line into D.C. This busy suburb
is the county seat for Montgomery County, Maryland. You will not consider this
modern urban city to be a QuaintPlace,
especially on weekdays when you will find heavy traffic. But,
Rockville has the gravesite of F. Scott Fitzgerald and a grand old mansion, and the historical
society has an interesting site.
If
you are planning a visit here, be sure to check out the many other
interesting spots nearby in Montgomery County,
Maryland and Washington
D.C.

Why
shop online?
Prices
and selection
are often better
from these Web
sites than in your
neighborhood stores. Many
of them offer
free packing and
shipping to
your
door or to your
gift recipient. So,
you can save
time, gas, and
money. Merchant
sites must
meet high security
standards to
advertise
on QuaintPlaces.com.

Did
you know?
When
you place an

do not increase
the cost of your

days
after
your

commissions for us.
(Please do not delete your cookies.)
These
commissions, plus sales of our
own photos and cards, are
necessary
to help defray the
cost of maintaining QuaintPlaces.com,
which currently
operates at a loss.
Your
purchases will
help us provide
more
information
and photos about
