Boonsboro
was founded in 1792 by relatives of Daniel Boone. You can visit the
first monument to George Washington which was built by Boonsboro
citizens on a nearby mountain. The town is on the
old National
Road which is Alternate US-40 here. Many early structures are
still in use in Boonsboro. The town itself does not does not get
much tourist trade, but there is plenty to do in the area.
