Old
New
Castle, Delaware
(a
QuaintVillage)
|
Old New Castle,
founded in 1651, was Delaware's first state capital. This small
historic district has been meticulously restored and preserved, giving it a
real colonial look and feel. The cobblestone streets and historic brick
buildings create a great atmosphere for dining and visiting the museums, galleries,
and shops. One tavern offers authentic 18th Century fare.
There are no large commercial signs, so look closely for the shops.
The opera house is an art gallery; the arsenal, a restaurant.
Several houses are museums. Parking is free and everything is within easy walking distance. |

you can save
time, gas, and
money. Merchant
sites must
meet high security
standards to
advertise
on QuaintPlaces.com.
