Riverside,
California

The
city of Riverside is just west of Los Angeles and is not
considered a tourist destination. But you can find a few quaint
spots and nice museums here. It is the home of the University of California
with its large botanical gardens.
Be
sure to visit Riverside Main Street Mall, an attractive tree-lined
outdoor shopping district on Main Street between Sixth and Tenth
Streets in the heart of the city. It
featuring antique shops, boutiques, cafes, and Mission Inn, a

Mission
Inn predates Riverside. The son of the original owner added many
unusual rooms to the house between 1902 and 1935 until it became a
complex castle that occupies an entire city block. He also collected
artifacts from all over the world, including 800 bells and mosaics
by Tiffany. Pat and Richard Nixon were married in one of the chapels
in the Inn. Today it has restaurants and 250 guest rooms, and hosts
many cultural events. |
