Napa,
California
|
Napa was founded
in 1847 as a river port. The historic downtown is being restored.
There are many Victorian homes that are colorfully painted, especially of
First Street.
Napa Valley,
which stretches north to Calistoga, is famous for its vineyards, cheese,
restaurants, shops, spas and resorts. You can ride a train or even a
hot air balloon to see the valley, but don't miss the shops. Chain
stores are not permitted in the valley. Everything is unique, special,
and a little pricey here.
September
and October are the busiest here, for the vineyards and shops. To avoid crowds, come January-March.

are often better
from these Web
sites than in your
neighborhood stores. Many
of them offer
free packing and
shipping to
your
door or to your
gift recipient. So,
you can save
time, gas, and
money. Merchant
sites must
meet high security
standards to
advertise
on QuaintPlaces.com.

Did
you know?
When
you place an
order from these

contribute a small
commission to QuaintPlaces.com. These
commissions
do not increase
the cost of your
purchases. Only
purchases
made within a few
days
after
your
initial "click" to
their sites generate
commissions for us.
(Please do not delete your cookies.)
These
commissions, plus sales of our
own photos and cards, are
necessary
to help defray the
cost of maintaining QuaintPlaces.com,
which currently
operates at a loss.
Your
purchases will
help us provide
more
information
and photos about
quaint places.
