Prescott,
Arizona
|
This mountain
city was founded in 1864 and became Arizona’s first territorial
capital. It has a mining heritage. Courthouse Plaza is the town square in
the center of the historic district. Tourist attractions can be
found here and along the surrounding streets. Prescott boasts over
500 historic buildings. The artists and their studios and
galleries are concentrated in the McCormick Street Arts District, which is
also near Courthouse Plaza. Whiskey Row, on Montezuma Avenue, is
famous for its frontier days saloons.
If
you venture to the Grand Canyon, 125 miles north, you can take highway
89-A, possibly Arizona’s most scenic drive.

Why
shop online?
Prices
and selection
are often better
from these Web
sites than in your
neighborhood stores. Many
of them offer
free packing and
shipping to
your
door or to your
gift recipient. So,
you can save
time, gas, and
money. Merchant
sites must
meet high security
standards to
advertise
on QuaintPlaces.com.
|
Did
you know?
When
you place an
order from these
merchants, they
contribute a small
commission to QuaintPlaces.com. These
commissions
do not increase
the cost of your
purchases. Only
purchases
made within a few
days
after
your
initial "click" to
their sites generate
commissions for us.
(Please do not delete your cookies.)
These
commissions, plus sales of our
own photos and cards, are
necessary
to help defray the
cost of maintaining QuaintPlaces.com,
which currently
operates at a loss.
Your
purchases will
help us provide
more
information
and photos about
quaint places.
