Many
of our photos were shot in stereoscopic 3D. (Look for
"3D" after the photo number.) Stereo views were all
the rage 100 years ago, and again in the 1950s. And they are
still lots of fun. Amateur photographers often attempt these,
but seldom get it right. Check out ours! (below)

|
Stereoscopic
cards, also called stereo views or stereographs, can be viewed in stereoscopes like this old fashioned
Holmes-type viewer. |
Or,
with a little practice, they can be viewed without a viewer. This is sometimes called "parallel
freeviewing."

|
Try
freeviewing! It can not hurt you. Click a Quaint3D
pair below to enlarge it to a comfortable viewing
size.

Why
shop online?
Prices
and selection
are often better
from these Web
sites than in your
neighborhood stores. Many
of them offer
free packing and
shipping to
your
door or to your
gift recipient. So,
you can save
time, gas, and
money. Merchant
sites must
meet high security
standards to
advertise
on QuaintPlaces.com.

Did
you know?
When
you place an
order from these
merchants, they
contribute a small
commission to QuaintPlaces.com. These
commissions
do not increase
the cost of your
purchases. Only
purchases
made within a few
days
after
your
initial "click" to
their sites generate
commissions for us.
(Please do not delete your cookies.)
These
commissions, plus sales of our
own photos and cards, are
necessary
to help defray the
cost of maintaining QuaintPlaces.com,
which currently
operates at a loss.
Your
purchases will
help us provide
more
information
and photos about
quaint places.
